Dhruba Koirala
Mr. Dhruba Koirala is an Advocate with over two decades of extensive litigation and corporate law experience before the courts of Nepal. A member of the Supreme Court Bar Association of Nepal, he has represented national and multinational business organizations in complex legal matters involving corporate, banking, financial, and regulatory disputes.
His core practice is centered on litigation, dispute resolution, and corporate advisory services, including corporate and shareholder disputes, banking and financial litigation, contractual disputes, foreign investment matters, intellectual property enforcement, arbitration, and regulatory proceedings. Mr. Koirala is committed to delivering effective, ethical, and result-oriented representation.
Mr. Koirala holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business Law and International Trade Law from Kathmandu School of Law (Purbanchal University) and a Bachelor of Laws (BL) from Nepal Law Campus, Tribhuvan University. His academic foundation in Contract Law, Company Law, Banking Law, Intellectual Property Law, Arbitration Law, Labour Law, and Foreign Investment Law significantly strengthens his litigation and advisory practice.
In addition to his legal practice, he has served as Chairperson and Board Director of Jyoti Bikash Bank Ltd., providing him with in-depth insight into financial governance, regulatory compliance, and board-level decision-making—experience that proves invaluable in handling complex financial and corporate disputes.
He has participated in high-level international leadership programs, including the Advanced Leadership Program at Rice University, Texas, USA and the Leadership Development Program at Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. He has also completed various professional legal trainings organized by the Supreme Court of Nepal, Lawyers Academy, Nepal Bar Council, and has participated in international intellectual property symposia organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization.
Mr. Koirala is also actively engaged in legal academia as a Faculty Member at National Law College (affiliated with Tribhuvan University), where he teaches commercial and business law. He has delivered lectures to Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Staff Colleges, contributing to legal capacity building within public institutions.His research work covers corporate governance, foreign investment law, intellectual property rights, multinational corporations, and CSR compliance in Nepal. He also contributed as a team member in the JICA-supported project on the Explanatory Note of the Civil Code (Dewani Sanhita).
